It’s 1969 and 19 year-old Ellie, a wannabe Rolling Stone photographer is sent to an unpromising backwater of England to cover a minor story. Instead, she discovers bands that would go on to conquer the world, performing at a club called Mothers, on a tiny stage above a furniture shop. She also discovers Stu & Tony, friends who will change her life forever - and vice versa. Other characters add to the story - Ray, the flakey but loveable club-owner and Max , a crazed ex-Vietnam War photographer sent to scupper Ellie's dreams of making it big. All to a soundtrack of some of the greatest rock music this country had ever produced.
